KINGSTON, Ont. – Three goals and three points are what the Ontario Tech University men's soccer team walked away from Kingston with on Saturday as they shutout the RMC Paladins 3-0.
With important matches ahead against Queen's, Nipissing and Laurentian – who Ontario Tech is fighting for playoff positions with – earning three points on Saturday afternoon moved the Ridgebacks up to fourth place in the OUA east.
On Sunday they look to put more of a hold on fourth place as they host the Queen's Gaels, who are two points back in fifth.
Fadi Salback (Bowmanville, Ont.) scored his team-leading sixth goal of the year in the 13
th minute. That stood as the lone goal in the opening half.
Christopher Campoli (Woodbridge, Ont.) scored the insurance marker in the 57
th minute of play, while
Matthew Perovic (Toronto, Ont.) iced the game with his goal in the 88
th minute.
Masoom Saromie (Ajax, Ont.) earned the win, playing 68 minutes and making one save.
Matthew Mattila (Pickering, Ont.) played the final 22 minutes of the match in goal. For RMC Jonathan Ardell made seven saves in the loss.
Kick off for Sunday's match at home against Queen's is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
