MBB | Voyageurs Can't Close Out Rams

It was back-to-back close losses for the Voyageurs against the Rams on Sunday afternoon.

The Voyageurs put themselves in a hole in the first, going down 11 heading into the second. It was sloppy care of the ball that led to easy points for the Rams but the Voyageurs were able to clean it up in the second and got the offense flowing. The ball was placed in Haroun Mohamed's hands and he went off for seven points in the quarter and was floor general for the offense, dishing out passes for easy layups. The Voyageurs cut the lead to only four going into the break. 

The Voyageurs carried their offensive momentum into the third with Gaëtan Chamand and Cedric Mbiaba both scoring nine points in the quarter and Mbiaba going perfect from the field. The Voyageurs leveled the game heading into the fourth. 

The Voyageurs had a hot start, going on a 6-0 run to start the fourth but the Rams would not go away easy. The teams went back and forth with several lead changes in the quarter. The game was 68-64 when Chamand hit a two-pointer to pull the Voyageurs within two. Unfortunately, the Rams hit a pair of free throws to seal the game. 

The Voyageurs record is now 6-8 heading into their next games on March 11th and 12th as they visit the Ottawa Gee-Gees in a push for the playoffs.
