PREVIEW: Gee-Gees gear up for home matchup against UAlbany
The Gee-Gees close out their annual NCAA exhibition schedule against UAlbany on Saturday.
The Gee-Gees men's basketball team will close out their annual NCAA exhibition schedule against the UAlbany Great Danes at Montpetit Hall on Saturday.
The team is fresh from their trip to Costa Rica, where they played two games apiece against Ball State and Drake over the course of a week in Central America. Finishing the trip with a 1-3 record, the team was encouraged as they stacked up well against their Division I opponents.
The Gee-Gees dropped one game against Ball State by two points, had a highlight 15-point win against Drake, only to be narrowly defeated by four points by Drake to close the tour.
Building into their matchup with UAlbany, the Gee-Gees will look to continue to explore their depth and close off their early preseason with a strong performance at home.
Despite most of the Gee-Gees roster playing in Costa Rica, one addition to the lineup will be freshman point guard Dragan Stajic. The 6-2 point guard will be in game action for the first time this preseason. A minor injury held him out of play for the team's first games, but he will now suit up in Garnet and Grey for the first time against UAlbany.
The Great Danes finished with a 7-9 record in the America East Conference last season, en route to finishing 12-20 overall.
