In AUS women's soccer action at Wickwire Field, the Dalhousie Tigers played the St. Francis Xavier X-Women to a 0-0 draw where both teams had good chances to put a goal on the board in both halves.

The pace was reasonable in the first half and they were several chances to be had. The X-Women's Kelsey Ellis (Ottawa, ON) had a clear break in the 18th minute, only to be denied by a good slide tackle by Tigers goalkeeper Kate Fines (Halifax, NS). In the 20th minute, St. FX's Emily Fleming (Fairbault, MN) had a good chance from the left side, but her shot sailed over the net. Dalhousie got their first big chance from the box from Jensen Hudder (White's Lake, NS) in the 28th minute, but it was stopped by X goalkeeper Erin Visser (Whitby, ON). Dal got their other real chance when Meagan McKenna (Halifax, NS) got a free kick in the 32th minute, but Visser made the stop to keep the first half scoreless.

In the second half, the pace picked up as both teams pressed to break the deadlock. In the 75th minute, the Tigers Sydney Kenney (Halifax, NS) had a good chance from far out that just flew over the net. The last chance came from the close shot of the X-Women's Mercy Myles (Accra, Ghana) in the 84th minute, ending the match in a scoreless draw.

Fines stopped all nine shots she faced while Visser made four saves. Fines was selected as the Subway Player of the Game for her efforts.

The Tigers are back in action tomorrow against the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues at 1 pm at Wickwire, while the X-Women are next in action on Sunday against the Memorial Sea-Hawks at 1 in Antigonish.
