Mounties beat UdeM 3-0 for 2nd straight win
The Mount Allison University Mounties and the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus shared honors of two games at Stade Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium on the Moncton campus on Friday night in Atlantic University Sport women's and men's soccer.
On the women's side, the Aigles Bleues (0-6-0=0pts, 10th position) were shutout 3-0 by the Mounties (3-3-1=7pts, 6th position) with three goals scored in the second half. Amanda Piltzmaker, Taryn Greco and Kathryn Perry managed the visitors' goals. Kaitlyn Strickland earned the shutout with only 1 shot on goal. Chelsea Burnham saw 12 balls in the loss. The Mounties had a corner kick and the Aigles Bleues, none.
The Aigles Bleus (2-3-2=7pts, 7th position) added 3 standings points with a 4-0 win over the Mounties (0-6-0=0pts, 10th position) in the men's game. Younesse Chibane with three goals led the Blue and Gold offensive. Georges Musitu scored the other. André LeBlanc registered the shutout in front of the net with 6 saves. Rhys Chambers saw 8 balls in the loss. The Mounties had 6 corner kicks compared to 2 for the Aigles Bleus.
The Aigles and Mounties have a second meeting Wednesday in Sackville at 5 p.m. (women) and 7:15 p.m. (men).
