Kiarra Grimes - Flyer / Tumbler
Kiarra Grimes is a flyer and tumbler, completing a BSc. in Biology and Psychology. She brings a competitive spirit and is always pushing herself and her team to be better athletes, performers, and teammates. In what is likely her last competition after a 10-year cheer career, Grimes is humbled and excited to think back on how far she has come, and she can’t think of a better way to celebrate this sport than to meet other cheerleaders from around the world while proudly representing Canada with some of her best friends.
Callie Kane - Base / Tumbler
Callie Kane is a base and tumbler, completing a BEd. in Elementary Education. She is the ultimate teammate bringing joy and positivity to everything she does. She loves making people smile and believes that although cheerleading is a tough sport, it should still be fun. For Kane, it is a dream come true to wear the team Canada uniform and get to compete internationally. This experience will be one she will always cherish.
Saira Camminga - Backspot
Saira Camminga is a backspot and is completing an Honours Degree in History and Political Science. Her strength as a backspot and as teammate is extremely influential. As an integral emotional leader, Camminga loves hyping up her teammates on the mat, and encouraging them during difficult parts of the routine. Cheerleading is important to Camminga because it brings people together from so many different backgrounds who are passionate about the sport and working toward a common goal. She feels lucky and privileged to be able to represent this team, the University of Alberta, and Canada on the World stage.
