Bio
Alexandra Roy joined U SPORTS as Manager, International Games Operations in March 2022.
Previously with Karate Canada, Alexandra developed different programs and managed several events with the federation for more than seven years. Among other things, she wrote procedures for the training of coaches and officials and established a scholarship program for female athletes who wish to make the transition to a leadership role. Alexandra also has extensive experience in sports events having worked for several events in high-level sport such as the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver and 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, numerous Pan American and National Championships in karate as well as several Grey Cups.
In her role with U SPORTS, she is responsible for the planning and logistics behind Team Canada's participation in the World University Games and FISU World University Championships.
Alexandra completed her studies in leisure at Concordia University (2008) and holds a master's degree in Sports Administration (2012) from the University of Louisville (Kentucky, United States). A fan of continuous learning, she is currently enrolled in the sports coaching management and leadership microprogram at HEC Montréal. Her passion for dance led her to be part of the Montreal Alouettes Cheerleaders team for 11 seasons. She also coached the team in 2022 and 2023. She grew up and currently resides in Montreal.
