U SPORTS unveils refreshed championship logo system featuring iconic trophies and host university colours
The updated branding emphasizes the iconic trophies presented to the Vanier Cup, men’s and women’s basketball, hockey, and volleyball championship teams. The refined designs ensure that each sport’s championship is visually distinct while preserving a cohesive look across U SPORTS national events. While evolving the design, U SPORTS has retained the banner from its previous logo system, ensuring continuity with past championships.
“Each U SPORTS championship showcases the peak of university sport in Canada, and this revamped logo system emphasizes that by centring the trophies within our market-driven sports," said John Bower, Director of Marketing and Communications at U SPORTS. “For our other championships, the addition of the host university’s colours is an acknowledgement of the significant investment they make for the successful execution of U SPORTS Championships.”
Incorporating host colours into the championship logos creates a distinctive identity for each event, strengthening the connection between competing teams, host institutions, and local supporters. Additionally, championships featuring men's and women's competitions at the same venue, such as the Final 8, will showcase unique logos highlighting the joint championships' special nature.
The refreshed branding will launch in the Fall 2025 season, with our U SPORTS championships incorporating the updated look from that point forwar
