Gwangju 2015: Message from the Chef de Mission

Congratulations on your selection and welcome to the 2015 Universiade in Gwangju. Your athletic ability, your hard work and exemplary attitude have brought you to this impressive nomination. 

What an experience for all of us, and particularly for you student athletes, to be representing our country at such a major worldwide sporting event. 

We hope you will take full advantage of these Games, not merely at the sports level but, especially, at the social and human levels.  Use this outstanding experience to appreciate other cultures and other sports in this amazing and exceptional setting.  

On behalf of the entire staff, I promise you that we will do everything in our power to make your adventure a memorable and constructive one. 

Together, we make up a big Canadian family and one that holds an important place within FISU.  Our ethics, our determination and, most of all, our legendary Canadian friendliness have always been part of our identity, our trademark. 

You will remember these Games all your life, as your hosts will remember you for all of their lives.  Enjoy them! Live them to the fullest!
