CIS Top Ten Tuesday (#13): No changes at the top

OTTAWA (CIS) – There are no changes at the top this week in Canadian Interuniversity Sport national rankings.

Saint Mary’s (women’s basketball), Carleton (men’s basketball), McGill (women’s hockey), Alberta (men’s hockey), UBC (women’s swimming & women’s volleyball), Toronto (men’s swimming) and McMaster (men’s volleyball) all maintain their No. 1 status.

The top two teams in the country met in both women’s and men’s hockey this past weekend.

On the women’s side, No. 1 McGill (9-0) dominated Montreal 5-0 on Sunday. Following their third loss in as many games against McGill this season, the reigning national champion Carabins (5-3) fall to No. 3 behind Queen’s (11-1-3) in the new coaches’ poll.

In men’s hockey, top-ranked Alberta and No. 2 Calgary went into their two-game series with perfect 12-0 records. The Dinos (13-0-1) took the first duel 2-0 on Friday but the Golden Bears (13-1) rebounded on Saturday with a 3-2 double-overtime win.
