Brock 3, Waterloo 2 Final

WATERLOO, Ont. - The Brock University men's soccer team (5-8-3 OUA) rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Waterloo (3-10-1 OUA) by a 3-2 score Wednesday.
 
The Warriors took a two-goal lead with strikes from freshman Giovan Logie (Trinidad and Tobago) in the 15th minute and sophomore Jesse Bean (Waterloo, Ont.) in the 47th minute.
 
Badgers sophomore Kenji Nicks (St. Catharines, Ont.) started the comeback with a goal in the 55th minute to make it 2-1
 
Senior Andres Nimstiv (Courtice, Ont.) tied the game in the 66th minute.
 
Freshman Sammy Orlando (Woodbridge, Ont.) scored the winner with his seventh goal of the season in the 73rd minute.
 
Senior Ryan Toale (Brampton, Ont.) was stellar in net for the Badgers with 10 saves in the win.
 
Freshman Alberto Tinebro (Hamilton, Ont.) made two saves for Waterloo and was saddled with the loss.
 
With 18 points, the Badgers hold the final playoff spot and sit two points ahead of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, who have two games remaining versus the top two teams in the OUA West - they play York (10-1-3 OUA) on October 21 and McMaster (8-2-4 OUA) on October 23.
 
In their previous meetings this season, Laurier tied York 1-1 on September 3 and lost 4-0 to McMaster on September 17.

TORONTO - Second-year striker Mario Kovacevic scored two goals as the No. 9 Varsity Blues men’s soccer team defeated the Trent Excalibur 3-0 on Wednesday night at Varsity Centre.
 
With the win, the Blues improve to 10-2-2 and remain in second place in the OUA East division.
 
After a scoreless first half and a 30-minute lightning delay, Kovacevic got the Blues on the board in the 62nd minute, notching his 10th goal of the season.
 
The Woodbridge, Ont., native then put the Blues up by two in the 84th minute, receiving a cross from fourth-year midfielder Geoffrey Borgmann and diving in the pouring rain to make the kick past Trent goalkeeper Josip Bosnjak.
 
Second-year midfielder James Greatorex rounded out the scoring one minute later with his second tally of the season.
 
Blues goalkeeper Russell Moore made one save to earn the shut out victory
 
The Varsity Blues return to the field this Saturday, October 22 as they head to Ottawa to take on the No. 3 Carleton Ravens.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
