CIS men's basketball roundup: Dalhousie takes AUS title

This past weekend was filled with outstanding accomplishments by Dalhousie's men's basketball team as Atlantic University Sport recognized this season's award winners and the Tigers took the AUS championship title!
The black and gold men's basketball team finished second in the AUS regular season standings with 44 points, to give them a quarter-final bye to the semifinal game in the AUS championship tournament. In semifinal play last Saturday the Tigers faced StFX and played fiercely, maintaining a lead on the X-Men the entire game to earn a 68-79 win. The team maintained a level head and showed up to Sunday's AUS final game determined to win. Dal established a great lead over the Axemen throughout the game for a 78-47 win to earn the 2010-11 Subway AUS championship title. Simon Farine was honoured as the player of the game as well as the tournament MVP for his performance over the weekend which included 24 points in the championship game.
This weekend the men will battle for the CIS championship starting at 6pm on Friday versus the CIS number three ranked Saskatchewan. The black and gold enter the tournament ranked sixth in the CIS.
