PROFILE

The long line of impressive defensive lineman that comes from the Manitoba Bisons continues with Evan Foster.

Over the last two seasons at Manitoba, Foster has continued to see his stock rise with impressive performances in both 2014 and 2015. At the defensive rush end position, the 6’1”, 240 lbs. player, has already been named a two-time conference all-star in his only two seasons with the Herd. Foster has continued his dominance at the CIS level after a successful junior football career with the Langley Rams.

Foster will even be more leaned upon this Bison season on the defensive line with the departure of Bison alum and NFL Draft pick David Onyemata, who played at nose tackle. Heading into his third season at Manitoba, Foster is already coming off an impressive season in the summer as he picked up the Defensive MVP for the West team during the 2016 East-West Bowl in May, an event that showcases CIS players prior to the upcoming draft year.

Bison football head coach Brian Dobie enthused, “Evan’s motor is always running in games and in practice. His work ethic is contagious and he is a great pass rusher along with playing the run tough. Evan is coming off a great East-West Bowl game this summer and we are looking for another big season from him in 2016.”

Foster will be a focus on numerous double teams that he has already experienced while playing in the highly competitive Canada West conference which boast the defending CIS champion. The 24 year old player has a nose to the ball as he accumulated 2.5 sacks, tied for eighth in conference, in 2016 and added 38 total tackles (13th in Canada West in 2016).

The sky is limit for Evan Foster in 2016 as it is expected that he will add to his extensive playing resume with another award-winning football campaign and become another highly successful Manitoba Bisons coming out of “D-line U”.
