Heading into this season, St. James and Pesek will both return for their senior years as the "book-ends" of a strong defensive line and senior defense. Pesek became a regular starter last season and finished the season in fine form, padding his year-end statistics with 24 tackles, 15 assisted tackles, 9 quarterback sacks, one forced fumble
"Martin made huge strides in the last tw years on the field, but probably made even bigger strides off the field. He really started to understand what it takes to be a great player not just your "average Joe", pointed out Head Coach Jeff Cummins. "In the weight room he rededicated himself to becoming stronger and quicker. His diet and general lifestyle changed, making him an elite defensive end and football player. Martin always had the athleticism to be a great player he just took a few years to realize it and make it happen. "
