OTTAWA – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES)
announced today that Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) football
athlete Mackenzie Morrison has received a two-year sanction for an
anti-doping rule violation. The athlete’s urine sample,
collected during out-of-competition doping control on September 24,
2013, revealed the presence of tamoxifen (an estrogen receptor
modulator).
In response to the CCES’ notification of the adverse
analytical finding, Mr. Morrison waived his right to a hearing,
acknowledged the anti-doping rule violation, and accepted a
two-year sanction ending December 5, 2015. The athlete, who resides
in Acton, Ontario, is ineligible to participate in any capacity
with any sport signatory to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program
(CADP), including training with teammates.
