MONTREAL (CIS) – The York Lions and Montreal Carabins advanced to the women’s final of the Canadian university tennis championship Thursday.
York, looking defend its 2015 title, defeated McGill with a convincing 5-2 victory in the semifinals, while Montreal narrowly eliminated Alberta 4-3. The Lions will face the Carabins for the title on Saturday. The Pandas, making their 7th straight appearance at the national championship, will play the Martlets in the consolation final.
The men’s semifinals take place Friday with McGill taking to the court against the University of Toronto and Alberta challenging Montreal.
