(FREDERICTON, N.B.) The Varsity Reds pulled through for a 1-0 win over the Dalhousie Tigers today after striker Oliver Jones found the net in extra time, with an assist from Diego Padilha.

UNB remains undefeated in regular season action with a record of 8-0-1.

It was a bit of a rough and tumble match out on BMO field with the Varsity Reds receiving two yellow cards (Diego Padilha at the 64th minute and Oliver Jones at around the 76th) and the Tigers receiving two yellows (Jacob DaCosta at the 47th minute and Robert Engert at minute 56) and one red card (Tyler Lewars at 59:27).

UNB outshot Dalhousie with eight shots to the Tigers' two, but the action on this cold and rainy Sunday left the Varsity Reds feeling like they had a little more to give.

"We didn't exactly come out and play the way we wanted to play, but we fought as hard as we could," Oliver Jones said. "I think we can move the ball better and have better link-up play. I know we're capable of much better than we put in today."

In the net for the shutout was Aaron McMurray. McMurray has not let in a single goal in 585 minutes of play this season.

The Varsity Reds will now have a break from play until after Thanksgiving. They will play UPEI in Charlottetown at 7:15pm on October 17.

The Dalhousie Tigers travel to play Acadia at the same time.
