CALGARY – For a second consecutive night, the University of Manitoba Bisons (2-0-0) defence stymied the University of Calgary Dinos (0-2-0) as they picked up a 2-0 win at Father David Bauer Arena on Saturday night.

Goals by Chris Benias and Jared Walker at the end of the second and the beginning of the third proved to be the difference as the Dinos get swept in a home series in regulation time for the first time since Nov. 7-8, 2008 – also by the Manitoba Bisons.

Manitoba ended the scoreless deadlock at 15:36 of the second on the power play, Benias scored on a low shot from the left short side that beat Lazaruk through the legs to make It 1-0. It was the first goal of the campaign for Benias. At 2:44 of the final frame, Jared Walker made it 2-0.

Second-year goaltender Joe Caligiuri collected his second straight shutout for Manitoba. The Bisons outshot the Dinos 28-21.

Manitoba heads back to Alberta next weekend when they face the Golden Bears in Edmonton for a two-game set. Calgary will travel west next weekend where they will play two games against the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds on Oct. 7-8.
