(Charlottetown, PEI) – The UPEI Panthers christened their new Turf with a hard fought 1-0 win
over the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday afternoon in AUS Women's soccer action at UPEI in front of
100 fans.
Tyffanie Bordage (Acadia Siding, NB) scored early at 12:12 of the first half on a nice strike off a
Danielle Younker (Charlottetown, PE) pass.
UPEI's Kelly Green (Charlottetown, PEI) played strong at centre back for the Panthers and was
named the Subway Player of the Game.
Dalhousie carried much of the play throughout the game registering 7 shots on goal in 13
attempts and 5 corner kicks. UPEI competed hard to hold off the Tigers but capitalized on one
of their 3 attempts and 3 shots on goal.
Amanda Stanyer (Port Coquitlam, BC) made six saves on the day for the Panthers, while Sam
Corcoran (Ottawa, ON) made two for the Tigers.
Both teams are back on the pitch Sunday afternoon, UPEI visits SMU and Dalhousie visits
