Sea-Hawks & Varsity Reds Record 2nd Straight Draw

(St. John's, NL) – The Memorial Sea-Hawks and UNB Varsity Reds played to a 0-0 draw for the second straight day in AUS women's soccer action.

Memorial came out strong, looking to get the first goal of the weekend, but UNB Goalkeeper Rebecca Duda was up to the challenge, turning away all 11 shots to record the clean sheet.

Although not tested quite as frequently, Memorial keeper Sydney Walsh made 3 saves to keep UNB off the scoresheet.  The clean sheet was the fourth of the season for Walsh, and her third in a row.

AUS goal scoring leader Jessie Noseworthy was kept under wraps by the Varsity Reds back line, but was still able to get 5 shots on goal.  Noseworthy had a late scoring chance, but sailed her header over the bar.

Jane Pope was named Subway Player of the Game from the Sea-Hawks.

The Sea-Hawks and Varsity Reds are both off next weekend due to a break in the AUS schedule.  UNB returns to the field on October 14th to face Moncton.  Memorial doesn't play again until October 21st, when they visit the UPEI Panthers.
