In a game that went down to the last second, the Cape Breton University Capers dropped a 47-46 decision to the Memorial Sea-Hawks in AUS women's basketball action Sunday in Sydney.
The day after the Capers defence held the Sea-Hawks to just five fourth-quarter points, they were unable to close things out Sunday as the visitors hit the winning hoop with just .2 seconds to play.
Valentina Primmossi has 12 points to lead the Capers who fell to 1-1 overall.
Rasheeka Gunn with 10 points and nine rebounds and Colleen Keane with eight points and six boards rounded out the top players for CBU.
Tianna Brown had 11 points, including the winning basket, and six rebounds for Memorial.
Sydney Ezekiel added 10 points and six rebounds off the bench for the winners.
The Capers will be on the road next weekend for a pair of games in Charlottetown against the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers.
