OSHAWA, Ont. – The UOIT men's soccer team has fallen to the Toronto Varsity Blues in consecutive games.
On Wednesday afternoon, UOIT was defeated 4-1 by Toronto in their home opener at Vaso's Field.
UOIT's lone bright spot was
Jaycob Bond's (Georgetown, Ont.) goal that he headed past Varsity Blues' goalkeeper Stefan Dusciuc off
Christopher Jaggarnath's (Scarborough, Ont.) corner kick in the 58
th minute.
Toronto was led by Jae Jin Lee's two goals (37 and 87
th minutes), opening and closing the scoring in the match.
Anthony Sousa and Nikola Stakic rounded U of T's scoring.
Dusciuc finished with three saves, while UOIT athlete of the week
Nicholas Miller (Oshawa, Ont.) finished with three saves in the loss.
UOIT's schedule doesn't get any easier as they continue their home stand against the undefeated Carleton Ravens on Saturday afternoon. Kick off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
