TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams women's soccer team was unable to muster any offence against the UOIT Ridgebacks on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 6-0 decision at Monarch Park Stadium.

The Rams played a strong first half against the perenially strong UOIT squad, trailing just 1-0 after 45 minutes, but the Ridgebacks found their offensive stride in the second half to run away with a 6-0 victory.

UOIT (1-1-1) was looking for their first win of the season and after scoring once in the first half on a penalty kick from Katherine Koehler-Grassau, the Ridgebacks found their stride after the halftime break.

The goals came fast and furious starting with Rachel Matthews scoring in the 49th minute, followed by Cassandra Sribny in the 51st, Kylie Bordelau in the 56th, and Sribny with her second in the 59th minute.

In her first appearance in the Rams uniform, Kristina Nalbandian (Maple, Ont.) was the only Ram to register a shot on target on Saturday.

The Ridgebacks tacked on one final goal in the 90th minute when former Ram Sarah Harvey benefitted from a crossing effort that she was able to tap in.

Ryerson (1-2-0) will look to rebound quickly as they host the Trent Excalibur on Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m. at Monarch Park.
