WHKY | Voyageurs Lose Nail-Biter 3-2

On Friday night, the Laurentian Voyageurs women's hockey team lost an absolute nail-bighter in the last few minutes as the Windsor Lancers won 3-2.


The Lancers struck early, as Erinn Noseworthy scored just 1:20 into the first period on the powerplay to give Windsor a 1-0 lead.
The Vees would again surrender a goal in the second period when Krystin Lawrenfe scored to give the Lancers a two goal advantage.  The Vees would not quit, however, as minutes later Sam Morell would answer for the Vees with just over five minutes remaining in the second period. Annie Sheridan and Emma Leger woiuld earn the assists on Morell's goal.

The Vees would then hit the ice in the third period with a spirited effort, scoring first just over six minutes into the period. Morgran McCann scored, with assists going to Kennedy Lanktree and Taylor Weber to tie the game.  After an incredibly intense 14 minutes, the Lancers would score late in the third period at 18:22 to take the lead.

Despite pressing in the final minutes, the Voyageurs would be unable to tie the game and would eventually fall to the Windsor Lancers, The Vees travel to Western tomorrow as they try to get back into the win column.
