Aigles Bleus drop Huskies 6-2 at home

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The Moncton Aigles Bleus defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies 6-2 Friday night at the Halifax Forum. The game was played before a crowd of 292.

Subway player of the game Danny Chiasson (Lameque, N.B.) had a goal and two assists, and Steve Lebel (Lemoyne, Que.) had two goals to lead the Moncton offence.

Adrien Lemay (Moncton, N.B.) made 33 saves in a sharp defensive performance for the Aigles Bleus.

The Huskies outshot the Aigles Bleus 35-27. Goals from Alex Noel (Dieppe, N.B.) and Lebel helped Moncton jump out to a 2-0 lead after the first period.

Both teams scored twice in the second period to make the score 4-2 after 40 minutes.

Markers from Remi Blanchard (Bas Caraquet, N.B.) and Lebel in the third clinched the win for Aigles Bleus.

The Saint Mary's goals came from Stephen Johnston (Guelph, Ont.) and Kyle Pereira (Brampton, Ont.).

Cole Cheveldave (Calgary, Alta.) turned aside 21 shots in goal for the Huskies.

The Aigles Bleus' next game is on Oct. 25 against the Acadia Axemen at 7 p.m. in Wolfville. The Huskies host the UNB Varsity Reds at the same time at the Halifax Forum.
