Sackville, NB) In AUS men's soccer action, the Huskies blanked the Mounties 4-0 on Sunday at Alumni Field.
Saint Mary's opened the scoring in the 19thminute when Mike Bennett found the back of the Mounties net on a hard and accurate shot that Mounties keeper Mike Cormier had no chance. The Mounties team played well and had some offensive chances in the game but couldn't find the back of the Huskies goal.
The Huskies struck again in the 29thminute when Alex Black slipped by Mounties defenders on the left side of field and had a breakaway goal. In the 2nd half in the Cian Tousignant Osiadhail scored on a penalty call. The fourth goal came on the 69thminute. when Alex Black got behind Mounties defense again for his second goal of the game and was awarded the AUS Subway player of the game.
The Huskies travel to Cape Breton to face the Capers on Friday, October 12th in upcoming action.
