REGINA – The Regina Cougars put the finishing touches on a two-game sweep over Victoria in the Canada West quarterfinals with an 82-68 win over the Vikes on Saturday night at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
 
Madi Docherty led the Cougars in scoring for the second time in the last three games, tying her career high with 22 points and adding eight assists and six rebounds in the win. Jennilea Coppola added 13 points, while Charlotte Kot had 12 points and nine rebounds and Kehlsie Crone chipped in with 10 points.
 
The Cougars become the first team to move onto the Canada West Final Four, which will be hosted by the University of Alberta two weeks from now if the Pandas are able to win their quarterfinal series against Thompson Rivers next weekend.
 
Sarah Semeniuk led Victoria with 14 points. Jenna Bugiardini (12 points) and Nicole Karstein (11) also hit double figures in scoring for the Vikes.

REGINA – The Regina Cougars led wire-to-wire in a 82-67 win over Victoria in Game 1 of a Canada West quarter-final series at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
 
Janine Guijt was 6-for-10 from three-point range and led all players with a career-high 22 points off the bench for the Cougars, while Charlotte Kot (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Jennilea Coppola (10 points, 10 rebounds) both had double-doubles for the U of R.
 
Sarah Semeniuk and Jenny Lewis each had 19 points to lead Victoria.
 
Katie Polischuk also had 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Cougars while Madi Docherty scored nine and dished out a career-high 11 assists.
 
The teams play Game 2 of the series on Saturday at the CKHS (7:00). A win by the Cougars will send them to the Canada West Final Four two weekends from now, while a Victoria victory would force a third and deciding game to be played on Sunday.
