WBB | Lancers Lace Voyageurs

The Voyageurs women's basketball team had a tough matchup tonight as they faced the 7th ranked team in the country, the Windsor Lancers. Though the team battled hard in a close first quarter, energy appeared to gradually drop as they ended the game with an 89-48 loss.

Again the team struggled to secure the boards, as the Lancers more than doubled their rebounds, capturing 38 compared to the Voyageurs' 18.

Another area of weakness that ultimately led to the Voyageurs demise was shooting percentage; shooting 34% from the field and 55% from the free throw line - unusual lows for the team.

Fourth year guard Adriane Bruni was top scorer for the Voyageurs with 16 points in the game, a solid personal performance and a season high for her thus far.

Top performer for the Lancers was Carly Steer with 23 points.

The Voyageurs will take some well deserved rest from competition and look to comeback strong in the new year when league play continues on January 5th at the Ben Avery Gym.
