Windsor, ON – The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team dropped a close 85-83 decision to OUA rivals the Western Mustangs on Thursday night at the St. Denis Centre.

In a battle of the conference's top West squads where the game was tied 21 times and there were 16 lead changes throughout, the Mustangs (6-4) were able to squeak by the No. 5 Lancers (5-3) to take a one-game lead on Windsor in the race for first place in the division. Windsor has one game in hand to the Mustangs heading into the back half of the season.

Mitch Farrell led the men with a team-high 22 points, and recorded the team's only double-double with 10 rebounds, while
Rotimi Osuntola Jr. had 16 points and 8 rebounds and
Alex Campbell chipped in 14 points in a losing cause for Windsor.
Brad Parker and
Khalid Abdel-Gabar added eight and nine points, respectively, in the loss.

Western was led by Anthony Spiridis with a game-high 23 points, while two Mustangs recorded double-doubles. Greg Morrow finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Tom Filgiano chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Windsor shot 41.0% from the floor, while the visitors garnered a 43.0% efficiency. On the glass, the Mustangs held a 47-39 edge over the Lancers. Neither side enjoyed more than a six-point advantage throughout the tightly contested match-up.
