Tommies Edge Aigles Bleues 2-1 in Double OT

The St. Thomas University Tommies edged the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues 2-1 in double overtime in AUS women's hockey action Sunday afternoon in Moncton. 

Lauren Henman potted the game winner 27 seconds into the second extra frame, with Emily Oleksuk and Alex Woods picking up assists on the play. 

Kaylee Vader scored the Tommies' first marker at 9:55 in the first period for a 1-0 lead. Marie-Pier Corriveau found the back of the net 6:42 into the second to tie the game, 1-1. 

Abby Clarke earned the win in net for the Tommies, turning away 25 of the 26 shots she faced. Gabrielle Forget made 30 saves in a losing cause for the Aigles Bleues. 

With the win, the Tommies improve to 6-3-1 on the season while the Aigles Bleues drop to 5-4-1. 

The Tommies are back in action Wednesday, November 15 when they visit the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers in Charlottetown.
