Ian Greedy scores hat trick, Capers top Tigers 4-1

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Ian Greedy (Lower Sackville, N.S.) scored a hat trick for the Cape Breton Capers as they beat the Dalhousie Tigers 4-1 on the road in AUS men's soccer action.

Cape Breton's (3-2-1) win puts them in third place in the AUS while the Tigers (2-3-2) are now tied for fifth.

The Capers opened up the scoring early when Ian Greedy scored on a penalty kick in the 19th minute. He would add another in the final minutes of the first half to make it 2-0 for Cape Breton.

Tigers keeper Tristan Leopold (Bedford, N.S.) made a remarkable diving save in the first half to keep the deficit at two going into the dressing room.

Mark Stewart (Liverpool, N.S.) extended the Capers lead to three in the 76th minute. The Tigers countered quickly when Ryan Lewars (Ottawa, Ont.) gave the team some life, scoring in the 81st minute to make it 3-1 .

The Capers went on to win 4-1, with the final goal being scored again by Ian Greedy.

Cape Breton (3-2-1) is back on the field Sunday when they visit the StFX X-Men at 3:15 p.m.

The Tigers' (2-3-2) next game is at the Université de Moncton (1-3-1) on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 5:15 p.m.
