MONCTON – Dalhousie University Tigers (2-4-1=5pts, 5th position) scored three unanswered goals, mid-way through the third period, to break a 1-1 tie game and beat Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (0-5-2=2pts, 7th position), 4-1 on Wednesday evening at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena, in front of 350 spectators in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game.

Ryan Verbeek, at 10:33, Colton Heffley, a minute later and Andrew Shewfelt, at 12:18, got the puck behind goaltender Brandon Thibeau during the less than two minutes of play, including two breakaways. Marc-Anthony Therrien (Samuel Roussy, Alexis Roy), on the power play, put Moncton ahead 1-0 and gave hope of a first victory with a quick goal at 1:23 of the first period. Tanner Williams, also on the power play, evened the chances in the second. Subway player of the game, goaltender Corbin Boes, registered 32 saves for the win, and Thibeau, 32, for the loss. A week ago, in Halifax, the Tigers were 4-3 winners in a shootout with the Aigles Bleus. Both teams were one for five on the power play.

The Aigles Bleus will travel to Antigonish, on Friday, for a match-up with the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men while the Tigers host the X-Men on Saturday.
