Memorial defeats Acadia in opener

Memorial defeats Acadia 3-1 in tournament opener  

The Memorial Sea-Hawks defeated the Acadia Axewomen on Friday October 28 in the first game of the 2016 AUS women's volleyball league tournament at Dalplex 

Memorial dropped the first set to Acadia by a score of 25-20 but went on to seal the next three by scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-16, respectively.  The Sea-Hawks were led by outside hitter Jill Snow who recorded 16 kills, five digs and a total of 17 points throughout the match.  

The top point leader for the Axewomen was Sarah Ross who recorded a total of 14 points. Ross also had five digs, 10 kills and three aces 

The Acadia Axewomen continue their tournament journey with a second game Friday evening at 8 pm against the Moncton Aigles Bleues at Dalplex 

The Memorial Sea-Hawks also have another battle Friday evening against the host Dalhousie Tigers. Game time is at 6 pm at Dalplex
