Sydney, N.S - The CAPERS played their home opener to a boisterous home crowd Friday night at the Sullivan Field House. The CAPERS battled hard all night despite being shorthanded with injuries. The final score of 85-67 doesn't reflect the effort given by the home team tonight. 

The CAPERS were led in scoring by swingman Kenny Jean-Louis (Montreal, QC) who had 21 points and 9 rebounds. Blake Gallatly (Maffra, AUS) also provided energy off the bench and scrapped his way to 17 points and 5 rebounds on the night. The Axemen were led big man Erik Nissen (Quispamsis, NB) with 25 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Sharp-shooter Kyle Arseneault (Fredericton, NB) chipped in another 24 points in the Axemen victory. Nissen was awarded the Subway Player of the Game for his efforts. 

The CAPERS had a poor night at the free throw line, shooting just 46% from the charity line. Acadia was at 70% for the night. Acadia moves to 1-2 with the victory, while the CAPERS drop to 0-3 on the young season. The CAPERS were without several players due to injury. Guards Seth Amoah, Nico Brauner and DaShaun Lalor-Crooks all sat out Friday's game. 

Both teams will square off again on Saturday night at 8pm in the Sullivan Field House 

Sydney, N.S - The CAPERS hustled hard on Saturday night against the Acadia Axemen at the Sullivan Field House but couldn't come up with the win. Acadia moved to 2-2 with the victory, while the CAPERS fell to 0-4 on the season.  

The CAPERS were led in scoring by Kenny Jean-Louis (Montreal, QC) with 22pts and 10 rebounds and got another scrappy performance from Blake Gallatly (Maffra, AUS). The Aussie finished with 16 points. Acadia used a balanced scoring attack with 6 players hitting double digits. Nick De Palma (Bedford, NS) had 17, while Erik Nissen (Quispamsis, NB) had a big night on the boards with 15 to go with his 13 points. 

The Axemen used a strong first quarter to get out to a 30-23 lead and never looked back. The CAPERS put up 25 three point attempts while to trying to get back into the game. The CAPERS were able to trim the deficit to 10 midways through the 3rd quarter but couldn't complete the comeback.  

The CAPERS will next travel to Newfoundland on November 19th and 20th to square off against Memorial University. The Axewomen will return home to host the UPEI Panthers on November 18th and 19th. 

The CAPERS next home game will be Wednesday, November 23rd against St. Francis Xavier, while the Axemen return home to host UPEI and UNB next Friday and Saturday.
