Box Score Carolyn Burke (Mississauga) scored twice and
Taylor Reimer (Morden) picked up her first career Warrior win on home ice as the Warriors earned their seventh win of the season on Sunday at the CIF, defeating the visiting Windsor Lancers 3-2.
Waterloo owned the opening 35 minutes while Windsor pushed on the gas in the final 25 but the Warriors were able to hang on for the victory. Â Waterloo improved to 7-3-0 on the season, good for third spot in the OUA with 20 points while Windsor dropped to 4-5-1.
The opening goal came at the 14:53 mark as Burke picked up a rebound off the shot of
Alyssa Gee (Ajax) and roofed it on the power play. Â
Stephanie Digness (Aldergrove) earned the second assist carrying the puck up from her own zone.

Burke netted her second of the game four minutes into the second on the power play, Waterloo's league leading 10th PP goal of the season. Â
Alison Hanson (Toronto) and Digness were given the helpers on the goal.
Ten minutes later, the Warriors made it 3-0 as
Rebecca Rutherford (Ajax) made a beautiful deke to the backhand and slid it past a helpless Molly Jenkins. Â
Tegan Odland (Enchant) made the play possible with a perfect dish to Rutherford.
The Lancers would not go away though putting one past Reimer with just 18 seconds left in the period as Krystin Lawrence snuck one in after the puck appeared to hit the crossbar and then Reimer's back, trickling across the line.
Up 3-1 with 20 to play Waterloo went into defensive mode but Windsor was able to break the Warriors down as Jillian Rops found herself all alone in front and made no mistake on her own rebound to make it a one goal game.
The Lancers kept coming in the final five minutes but Reimer stood tall to secure the win for the black and gold. Â Reimer would make 24 saves for the win while Jenkis turned aside 21 shots in the loss.
Waterloo will return to the CIF next Saturday for a game against the York Lions, their lone game of the weekend.
