X-Men drop exhibition game to McGill

Montreal, QC – The McGill Redmen defeated the StFX X-Men 82-72 in U SPORTS inter-conference pre-season exhibition action Saturday night.

After establishing leads of 21-15 after the first quarter and 41-34 at halftime, the host Redmen were able to hang onto their lead throughout the second half. The X-Men made a fourth quarter charge, outscoring the RSEQ squad 21-15 in the final frame.

With a balanced game, five X-Men were in double scoring digits on the night. Kevin Bercy scored 16 points and had 8 rebounds, Justin Andrew scored 12 off the bench and Tristen Ross netted 11 points.

Julius Antoine (10 points, 4 rebounds) and Davonte Provo (10 points, 5 rebounds) also played well for the X-Men, while Azaro Roker (7 rebounds) and Daniel Passley (6 rebounds) had strong games under the net.

The Redmen had a slight edge in rebounding in the game at 40-37 and in turnovers at 22-20. They shot 41.8% from field goal range to the X-Men's 33.8% and sunk 11 treys on the night.

Jenning Leung (16 points) and Alex Paquin (14 points) were the top scorers for the Redmen with Dele Ogundokun scoring 12 and leading with 9 rebounds.

The X-Men will close out their exhibition trip with a game against the University of Toronto on Sunday afternoon at 12 noon EST, to be played in Montreal.
