Box Score
Guelph, ON – Saturday night at the Gryphon Centre, the Gryphons Men's Hockey team won 6-1 over the visiting Brock Badgers. With the win, the Gryphons imnprove to 6-5-0 ""on the season and move to within one point back of the 3rd place Badgers who fall to 5-4-3.

One night after picking up a shootout victory on the road against York, the Gryphons returned home and showed no signs of sluggishness as they would open the scoring just 23 seconds into the game. Rob De Fulviis set up captain Nick Trecapelli for his second goal in his last three games as the Gryphons jumped out to a 1-0 lead.

Brock was able to tie the game at 1-1 with a power play goal midway through the period. But some big saves from Gryphons goalie Scott Stajcer, who was getting the start for the second night in a row, helped keep the game deadlocked after 20 minutes of play as Brock outshot Guelph 15-9 in the 1st period.

The 2nd period saw the Gryphons take a 2-1 lead thanks to Lenny Fabbri's first goal of the season. Moments later, Stajcer would make a nice glove save to preserve the Gryphon lead as Fabbri's tally would prove to be the only goal of the period as Guelph took a 2-1 lead to the 3rd.

In the final period of play, Guelph widened their lead to 3-1 when Cody Thompson struck off an assist from Peter Soligo. Just 15 seconds later, Guelph struck again with a shot up high by Dylan Gilbert that beat Brock's Clint Windsor's glove side. Trailing 4-1, Brock pulled their goalie in the final minutes of play leading to a pair of empy net goals from De Fulviis and Stephen Hiff. The Gryphons have now five of their last six games and will be back in action on Friday, November 20th when they host Queen's and then again on Saturday, November 21 when they host UOIT.
