Seahawks blank Huskies 3-0

(Halifax, NS) Sunday afternoon, in AUS women's soccer action at Huskies Stadium, the Memorial Seahawks easily got past the Saint Mary's Huskies in a game they controlled from the outset.

Memorial got on the board early in the 6th minute when Teri Murphy (Mount Pearl, NL) scored to make it 1-0 for the Seahawks. Subway player of the game Jessie Noseworthy (St. John's, NL) added to the lead with a tally in the 24th minute to give Memorial a 2-0 lead.

In injury time, Alex Morgan (Mount Pearl, NL) potted a marker to make the score 3-0 after the first half.

That would be all the offence they needed as both teams went scoreless in the second half.

Hannah Noseworthy (Mount Pearl, NL) got the shutout in goal for the Seahawks.

Both teams play their next game this Saturday. Memorial hosts the Cape Breton Capers at 1:00 pm NST and Saint Mary's is at home to the St. Francis Xavier X-Women at 1 pm AST.
