Halifax, NS - In AUS men's soccer action at Wickwire Field, the Dalhousie Tigers drew the StFX X-Men 1-1 after intense play and dramatics late in the game.

Both teams came out fast and intense in the first half, looking to get a goal on the board early. That eventually came when X-Men forward Dan Hayfield (Exeter, UK) converted on a free kick in the 19th minute to make it 1-0.

The X-Men got another good chance before the end of the half when the shot of Blake Fenton (Halifax, NS) from in close was stopped by Dalhousie goalkeeper TJ Leopold (Bedford, NS).

In the second half, the quick, spirited play continues as X looked to keep their lead and DAL looked to tie things up. The Tigers got a free kick in the 68th minute and the boot of Nyle MacLeod (Ottawa, ON) nearly found its way into a sea of players, but not into the net.

After that, Dylan Lawrence (Ottawa, ON) of the X-Men almost put the game away on a breakaway, but was stopped by Leopold.

In the 89th minute, a Tigers corner kick from MacLeod found its way to Subway Player of the Game Jonathan Doucett (Halifax, NS), who made no mistake against Thomas Pieroway (Conception Bay, NL) and tied the match.

Dalhousie got another corner kick from Kallen Heenan (Dartmouth, NS), but this one didn't go in and the match ended in a draw.

The shots on goal were 3-2 in favour of the X-Men. Pieroway stopped 1 shot while Leopold made 2 saves.

X-Men midfielder Cole Suart (Calgary, AB) earned Subway Player of the Game honors for his efforts.

The Tigers are back on the field tomorrow against the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus at 3:15 pm at Wickwire while the X-Men play next on Sunday against the Memorial Sea-Hawks at 3:15 in Antigonish.
