Both the Tigers (0-4-0) and Huskies (3-0-1) got off to a slow offensive start in what would turn out to be a high-scoring game tonight at the Halifax Forum.

The first period of play saw both teams in penalty trouble early on. Saint Mary's opened the scoring midway through the first period on a short-handed goal by Ben Duffy, with Stephen MacAuly and Steven Beyer assisting.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the second, leaving the Huskies up 1-0 heading into the third period.

Within the first 10 minutes of the third period, the Huskies scored three un-answered goals. Kyle Pereria notched his second goal of the season. Less than two minutes later, Duffy got his second of the night (his sixth in four games). Steven Shipley scored his fourth of the season less than a minute later.

The Tigers got their first goal of the game midway through the third period. Myles McGurty put one past Huskies goalie Cole Cheveldave on a pass from Andrew Wigginton on the power-play. Tigers forward JP Harvey got his second of the year on a five on four just over a minute later. That would be it for scoring for the Tigers, but not for the Huskies. Forward Bradley Greene got his first of the season halfway through the third period. Stephen Johnton got his fourth of the season at the end of the third to put the Huskies on top 6-2.

Cheveldave made 33 saves for the Huskies while Matt Tipoff had three assists in the victory. Tigers goalie Wendell Vye faced 27 shots in the loss.

Both teams play next Friday october 24 when the huskies host Moncton and the Tigers head to UPEI.
