Sea-Hawks Drop 2nd Straight Match

(HALIFAX, N.S.)—The Saint Mary's University women's volleyball team swept the visiting Memorial University Sea-Hawks 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-12) on Saturday night from the Homburg Centre. 

Erin Smith (Moncton, N.B.) paced the Huskies with eight kills as SMU finished with 34 kills in the win. 

Emma Hackett (Clarenville, NL) added eight kills for the Memorial offence, who finished with 25 kills in the loss. 

Sarah Dawe (Mount Pearl, NL) had six kills while Kierstin Fey (Selkirk, MB) finished with five and Lauren Fenez (Hammonds Plains, NS) added 19 digs for Memorial. 

Kristina Alder (Brampton, Ont.) chipped in seven kills for SMU while teammates Lindsay Donovan (London, Ont.) and Maddie Clarke (Ottawa, Ont.) each had six. 

Anna Watt (Calgary, AB) added 11 digs for Saint Mary's. 

With the win SMU improves to 7-3 in Atlantic university sport conference play and Memorial drops to 5-5. 

Both teams finish up their weekend series with a 1p.m. match Sunday January 14th from the Homburg Centre.
