The men's basketball team was on the road this weekend for a pair of tough games in Ottawa facing the Gee-Gees on Friday night and then the CIS No. 1 Carleton Ravens on Saturday.  The losses drops the Gryphons to 1-4 on the season.

In the first game of the weekend on Friday the Gryphons dropped a close game to the Gee-Gees, unable to come back from a 10-point deficit after the first half. The Gee-Gees got out to a 10-point lead in the first half and although the Gryphons fought hard, they were unable to tip the scoreboard in their favour. Zach Angus led the Gryphons on offence with 23 points, 3 assists and 1 steal.   Rookie Charles Amponsah and third year Michel Clark added 11 points.

The next night the Gryphons were overwhelmed by the defending CIS champion and number one ranked Carleton Ravens by a score of 104-54.  The young Gryphon team shot 40 percent while the Ravens shot an impressive 63 percent. Three Gryphons shot double digits including Stefan Cornellison with 12 points while Daniel Thompson and Michel Clark with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Gryphons are back home after a long road trip and expect to get back in the winning column this weekend when they host a doubleheader against York and Laurentian.  They will host the York Lions on Friday (Nov. 30 - 8PM) and the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday (Dec. 1 - 8PM).
