Panthers fall to the X-Men on Saturday night
St.FX doubled up the Panthers at the Bell Aliant Centre.

The St.FX X-Men defeated the UPEI Panthers 4-2 Saturday night.
Nine seconds into the game Beau McCue scored to give the Panthers the lead. Later on in the period the X-Men evened things up with a goal from Holden Cook. The X-Men put more shots on net in the opening frame, outshooting the Panthers 11-8.
The two teams exchanged goals in the second. Michael Clarke opened the scoring in the second at the 3:06 mark with help from Holden Cooke and Mark Tremaine. For the Panthers, Darcy Ashley, brought the game back to even with a power play goal from Cody Payne and Marcus Power.
In the third, at five and a half minutes remaining, Adam Stevens scored on the power play to give the X-Men the lead. Late in the final period, Matt Needham managed to find the empty net shorthanded with seven seconds remaining in the third capping the victory for St.FX.
The UPEI Panthers are back in action next weekend when they travel to Halifax to take on the Tigers Friday night and then to Antigonish to face the X-Men on Saturday.
