BOX SCORE TORONTO (January 27, 2012) – Ryan Golden of Barrie, Ont. had five points in the final 16 seconds but the Gaels (0-15) couldn't climb all the way back, falling 82-78 to the Toronto Varsity Blues (6-10) on Friday night.

Queen's had a season high four players in double digit scoring as Mackenzie Simpson of Ottawa had 19 points, Nikola Misljencevic also of Ottawa had 15, Golden had 13 and Matthew Baker of Kingston, Ont. chipped in with 12.

Toronto was led by Andrew Wasik of Burnaby, B.C. who had a double-double scoring 11 points and adding 13 boards.

The Gaels finished out the first quarter with a slim one point advantage but fell behind by 12 heading into the fourth and final frame. Queen's controlled the ball well and got the deficit to single digits but the Blues held on for a four point win. Golden scored key baskets in the final seconds including a three pointer with 16 seconds left and a two with five seconds left to bring things down to a two possession game. Queen's couldn't get the ball back however and were left with the loss.

The Gaels are back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Ryerson Rams. Game time is set for 8pm.
