Johnson with three-point night against Concordia

MONTREAL, Que. – The UOIT men's hockey team have swept another weekend on the road, improving their road record to 5-1 this season after dominating the Concordia Stingers 5-1 on Saturday night.
 
Five separate players scored for the Ridgebacks in the game, four of which came even strength, while the lone Concordia goal came on the man advantage.
 
For the Ridgebacks, Malik Johnson (Montreal, Que.) had a goal and two assists in the road game in his hometown.
 
With a pair of goals on the weekend, Mike Robinson (Stouffville, Ont.) passed Jesse Stoughton to sit fifth in all-time points for UOIT with 85 in 108 games played. He also now has 45 career goals, one back of Stoughton's 46 for third all-time.
 
Next weekend is another big road trip for the Ridgebacks as they had to Trois-Rivières to face the UQTR Patriotes for a pair of games. Puck drop is 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
  Malik Johnson's three points paced the Ridgebacks scoring. His three-point game was only the second of his career, his first dates back to Dec. 3, 2016 at home against the RMC Paladins when he had three assists in a 7-2 win.
• Two point nights came from Austin Eastman (Lindsay, Ont.) and Jake Bricknell (Port Perry, Ont.).
• UOIT's scoring saw two goals in the first by Alex Yuill (Wellington, Ont.) and Bricknell; two goals in the second by Robinson and Tyler Mayea (Burlington, Ont.); and one in the third by Johnson.
• Concordia's lone goal came in the second period by Carl Neill.   Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska) picked up his sixth win of the season, making 22 saves. Through seven games he has a .932 save percentage.
• Olivier Tremblay was chased from the net by the Ridgebacks with just under 10 minutes to play after allowing five goals on 35 shots.
