Sea-Hawks top Tigers 2-1 in final regular season game

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The Tigers fell 2-1 to the Memorial Sea-Hawks in their final regular season game on Sunday at Wickwire Field.

Hannah Rivkin broke the 1-1 deadlock, scoring in the 90th minute handing Dalhousie a heartbreaking loss.

The Tigers came out strong, dominating play for the majority of the first half but could not bring a lead into the dressing room. Hannah Rivkin scored for the Sea-Hawks in the 39th minute on a lob shot from outside the 18-yard box, barely beating keeper Rachel Hunt.
 
Victoria Parkinson would tie things up for the Tigers in the 67th minute when she cracked a shot past Memorial keeper Hannah Noseworthy. Noseworthy had 12 saves on the day while Dalhousie keeper Rachel Hunt stopped four shots.
 
In the final minutes of the regular season, Hannah Rivkin netted her second goal of the day giving Memorial the 2-1 victory.
 
Jenna Goobie, Michelle Yates and Monica Diab were presented plaques by head coach Jack Hutchison in their final regular season game at Wickwire Field. They will have one last shot at the AUS championship this coming weekend.
 
Both teams qualified for the Subway AUS women's soccer championship hosted at Dalhousie University next weekend.
Memorial finished second in the AUS with a 9-3-1 record securing them a quarter-final bye.
Dalhousie (6-4-3) finished fifth in the AUS and will take on the fourth-seeded Acadia (5-1-7) on Friday at Wickwire Field.
