(HALIFAX, N.S.) – Three unanswered goals helped the Dalhousie Tigers top the Saint Mary's Huskies 3-1 on Saturday night at the Halifax Forum.

The Huskies would get on the board on their first shot of the game, courtesy of forward Calder Brooks (Emerald Park, Sask), and outshot the Tigers 10-6 to take a one goal lead into the first intermission.

Dalhousie responded in the second period, tying the game up on an unassisted goal by forward Mike Evelyn (Ottawa, ON). Saint Mary's had their share of opportunities, putting 12 pucks on net, however Tigers goalie Corbin Boes stood his ground.

The Huskies would outshoot Dalhousie 7-2 in the opening 10 minutes of the final frame, but once again, Boes kept the game even and his team rewarded him with two goals in the final four minutes of play.

The game-winning goal came off the stick of forward Alex Pawelczyk (Detroit, MI) at 16:18, and Andrew Wigginton (Sackville, NS) provided the insurance marker at 18:52 to seal the 3-1 win for Dalhousie.

With the win, Dalhousie advances to 2-1-1 on the season while Saint Mary's falls to 1-3-0. The Huskies next game goes on Wednesday at home against Acadia while the Tigers will welcome UNB to town next Friday.
