MONCTON – Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-6=6pts, 5th position) completed their first semester women's volleyball schedule with a 3-2 win over University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds (0-9=0pts, 6e position), Sunday, in Atlantic University Sport game at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud.  

The Blue and Gold won 17-25, 25-22, 27-25, 21-25 and 15-13. Jessie Robichaud, Subway player of the gamehad 18 digs, foles Aigles. Pascale Doiron had 16 kills, 61 attacks and 19 digs and Christelle Bertin, 12 kills, 44 attacks and 26 digs. Kristen Burns registered 17 kills and 9 digs for UNB.    

Acadia University Axewomen (5-4=10pts, 4th position) surprised Dalhousie University Tigers (8-1=16pts, 1st place), 3-0 for the first loss of the season. Acadia won 25-20, 25-18 and 27-25. Lauryn Renzella had 15 kills, 30 attacks and 9 digs for the Axewomen and Keiley Evans, 18 digs. Victoria Turcot was tops for the Tigers with 11 kills, 37 attacks and 10 digs.  

Memorial University Sea-Hawks (5-3=10pts, 2nd position) lost 3-1 against the Saint Mary's University Huskies (5-3=10pts, 4th place) in their last regular season game of the first semester. The Huskies won 25-17, 21-25, 25-18 and 25-12. Erin Smith had 15 kills and 29 attacks for the Huskies and Maddie Clarke, 18 digs. The best for the Sea-Hawks was Emma Hackett with 15 kills and 49 attacks. Sarah Dawe had 17 digs.  

The AUS tournament ends the volleyball schedule of the first semester. The Aigles Bleues will host Dalhousie University Tigers, on Friday Jan. 12.
