Panthers drop weekend set to Capers
Sydney, NS - The Cape Breton University CAPERS swept their weekend matchup against the UPEI Panthers, winning 88-77. Alison Keough (Marion Bridge, NS) and Hannah Brown(North Sydney, NS) both had strong games for the CAPERS for the second night in a row. Brown scoring 23 points and Keough getting 21. Jenna Mae Ellsworth (Charlottetown, PE) played well in a losing effort, scoring a game-high 24 points.
Turning point - The CAPERS finished the game strong, outscoring the Panthers 29-19 in the final quarter, including a 13-2 run which was capped off by a 3 pointer from Toni Bianchini midway in the game's final quarter.
Individual Leaders
- Hannah Brown led the CAPERS in points with 23 on 9-13 shooting, and also had 8 rebounds
- Alison Keough had an all-around great game, totaling 21 points, and adding 16 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal
- Jenna Mae Ellsworth had the most points on the night of anyone, scoring 24 points, including a perfect 8/8 from the free throw line
