VANCOUVER – The CIS #2 Calgary Dinos scored 55 straight points to defeat the UBC Thunderbirds 62-7 on David Sidoo Field at Thunderbird Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

UBC's only touchdown came on a one-yard scamper by quarterback Billy Greene.

Calgary running back Steven Lumbala rushed for two touchdowns, while his backup Cuong Thai Lieu also recorded a major.

Dinos quarterback Eric Dzwileski threw three touchdowns, to Chris Dobko, Richard Snyder and Jake Harty, and recorded a career-high 388 yards passing, completing 24 of 27 attempts. He also rushed for a score in the third quarter.

Snyder caught his second touchdown of the game from backup quarterback Andrew Buckley.  The Dinos' two pivots had just four incompletions in 35 pass attempts.

Calgary's Johnny Mark added two field goals.

UBC's next game will be in Edmonton next Saturday, Sept. 29 against Alberta (0-4). Both teams are 0-4 on the season. Calgary (4-0) will host #7 Saskatchewan (2-2) next Saturday as well.

WINNIPEG - In a game that saw almost 1,100 total combined yards of offence and just under 90 points scored, it was special teams and a defence stop that turned the tide for the #8 Manitoba Bisons as they defeated the Alberta Golden Bears by a score of 51-38 at University Stadium (U of Manitoba campus) on Saturday.

With the home victory, Manitoba improves to a 3-1 record and tied for second in the Canada West conference with Regina. Alberta is now 0-4 and tied for last with UBC in the conference at the halfway point of the 2012 regular season, having not won an n-field contest since 2010.

Bison QB Clark ended up tied for the second most passing yards in a single game in team history at 442 yards, with four TDs, while Nic Demski added 1 receiving TD for 37 yards, 31 rushing yards on seven carries and 1 rush TD along with 128 punt return yards on three attempts and 42 kickoff return yards for a whopping 238 all-purpose yards in the game. Andrew Smith, with two, Danny Turek, and Andrew Barry on a fumble recovery all scored majors for the home side.

Tyler Lewis, QB Curtis Dell, with two and Smith Wright found the end zone for Alberta.

In week five football conference action, Manitoba (3-1) will have a second place showdown on the road at Regina (3-1) on Friday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. MT. Alberta (0-4) goes back home to host UBC (0-4) in a battle for fifth spot on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00 p.m. MT.

Rams-Huskies Stats

SASKATOON - The CIS #9 Regina Rams defeated the #7 Saskatchewan Huskie 35-26 in front of a Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park record crowd of 9,033 on Friday.

With the win Regina moves to 3-1, while the Huskies drop to 2-2.

In the third quarter, Rams pivot Marc Mueller threw a 28-yard strike to Kolten Solomon. Two drives later Mueller led the Rams 66 yards down the field on seven plays. Michael Kipway finished the drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Solomon also ran one in playing QB for one play in the first quarter.

The Rams' Kirby Kezama intercepted a Chase Bradshaw throw and returned it down to theHuskies 14 yard line on the following drive. Kipway would punch in his second major of the third quarter with a five-yard touchdown run making the score 35-12 in favour of Regina.

Drew Burko started the game for Huskies and went 14-for-23 with one touchdown before leaving the game with an injury late in the first half.

Hillis led the Huskies receiving corps hauling in seven receptions for 115 yards. It was his second straight game with three touchdowns. Mitch Stevens caught seven passes for 70 yards.

Mueller was 29-for-37 passing for 330 yards and two TDs.

Saskatchewan travels to Calgary to meet the #2 Calgary Dinos, while Regina returns home to host the #8 Manitoba Bisons.
